The new head office for Studentsamskipnaden i Oslo (SiO) is a 1200 sqm project where only 12% of the furniture and interior elements were newly purchased. A result we are truly proud of!
Most of the interior is based on SiO’s existing furniture, complemented with some second-hand pieces and custom-designed elements, often combining old and new materials. We have updated some of the old archive cabinets with a wooden frame and a bookshelf, making them both functional and atmosphere-creating room dividers.
In the staff restaurant, the tables and chairs are reused. The lighting fixtures were existing fixtures in the space, but have been repositioned to create a more dynamic and vibrant atmosphere. Pine-clad walls add warmth and a natural feel to the space.
The project focused strongly on functionality and adapting to new ways of working, with a thoughtful distribution of meeting rooms, touchdown zones, consultant areas and workstations.
The office is divided into four wings, each with its own color theme. The workspaces feature calm, soft and muted tones, while the meeting rooms use stronger colors to create energy and character.
Curating and framing art was a key part of the project. We mainly worked with SiO’s own art collection and together we saved many pieces from being forgotten or damaged.
